Rapidly developed using Bootstrap, ShowerCapApps is served by Bottle with a simple JSON backend that uses Cork and Beaker for authentication and sessions, respectively. The nice part about this setup is that the app is very portable and doesn’t rely on a database backend to be installed. Just plop it in a folder and run the script. Boom.
The site also has a full-featured admin area where researchers can manage the site. My favorite feature is the ability to change participant task lists based on what they do and do not consent to doing. It was implemented using jQuery UI Portlets plugin and designed to be very user friendly.
